Rhalf ripped me off. He found extra work, failed to give me a quote, and charged me Β£94.22 for brake sensors that I could have bought for Β£27.48. When I complain it seems he feels justified in charging inflated "trade prices" even though he gets parts from Eurocarparts just as I do.
Reported to resolution centre at ClickMechanic 3 days ago, but they have failed to resolve. Will have to go to credit card company.
Advice to other customers: always insist on a quote when extra work is found.

Reply from Rhalf:

Again John unfair complain and even more unfair review.
I will explain again here so people do not have the wrong Idea of my honesty.
I arrived at the job to replace front brake pads on his Porsche before I went there I even messaged to say are you sure you do not need the brake sensors he was adamant that he did not. ( know more than the mechanic), once I started the job straight away found the sensors were gone knocked on his door and explained to him that the sensors will need replacing again him knowing more than me said why don’t you strip the wiring and fool the cars system to not need the new sensors again I explained to him that I wouldn’t do a dodge job because it was against my mechanic ethics, I then offer him to stop the job and go to the nearest Eurocarparts shop to collect the parts and do it properly he instantly agreed with me and said ok, So I packed up all my tools got in my Van and went on a 10 miles round trip which I normally charge Β£75 to collect his sensors to be able to finish the job come back got it done properly finalised the job and even showed him the phone app with the final bill and I mention to him as a gesture of good will I only added 0.
3 hours more and the parts to the work which should of been over Β£100 my time to collect plus job plus parts.
He than said thank you good bye, one hour later decided to complain about the prices !
All in What I understand is that some people think you are obligated to do things do them for nothing as if your job is worthless.
I feel that he honestly I am the one in a loss because I am doing my job properly but lesson learned next time someone tries that one me I will be more aware of the intentions and not let them take my kindness for weakness. πŸ‘πŸ»
