Audi A8 Major Service

Major service booked in accordance with Audi checklist. This service was NOT conducted to Audi checlkist despite claim. Many things, like greasing of locks and latches were not completed. Sun roof inspection not completed. Worse, cooling system inspection was not completed as a split hose is clearly in evidence, leaking coolant all over the engine. Any competent inspection could have identified this. The mechanic does claim to have changed sparkplugs, oil and filters in addition to changing the brake fluid for which an additional £140 was charged. One can only assume that this work was actually completed but if so the work completed was barely more than an oil and filter change for £491. 76 in total. I am suspicious that none of the work was completed given the failure to spot the split hose. With the engine cover removed the gape in the inlet pipe is obvious which leads me to believe the engine cover was never even removed. Read more

Dear George
You were aware of the water leak as we pick up the car. We hold the car overnight as we could not get the parts for your car on same day. You are probably upset because we refuse to fix the waterleak for you. Hence why you are making all these false allegations. In our experience as mechanic some time its better to raise your hand and say no rather than trying and getting it wrong. Your car is a 1998 audi a8 and all the nuts and bolts are rusty so we would rather avoid working on your car.

The garage that YOU PUT ME IN TOUCH WITH, could not do my Brake Discs as they had bought the wrong ones and could not find any to replace them with and they also said that you can only get them from the Main Dealer. Rubbish. They called me first to see if i wanted to upgrade the discs and pads for better ones but the price put me off. I asked them which Discs and pads they were putting on mine and said Cheap ones and when i asked which ones they said that they were not recognised on the market. Hmm. When i finally got the bil it was for £159.38 for pads only. My whole thing about getting the Discs done as well was going to be a total of £209. 67, which means the discs were only going to be just short of £50 dearer. I find that £100 for cheap pads is extorionate. Pads should only be around the £40 for a good set not cheap ones that they were putting on. Read more
