Having routinely gone to garages for the past 10 years, I was apprehensive about using ClickMechanic. However, that has all changed from my first experience using the system. My mechanic was punctual, and had informed me of his approximate arrival time. Despite being a brake pad and disc change, the job was done within the hour on my own doorstep, at a time that suited me. Harriss was polite, well informed on the job, and carried out the job tidily, switfly and quietly, which was a bonus in a busy housing area like mine. I asked the mechanic to check the car as it had not been taxed for a year, on the phone, he arrived in a Saab car. First he did not know were the bonnet release was, I told him, then he took the engine cover off and said there were leaks. I thought it was aged related marks ( I have had 20yrs experience in the sales side of the motor trade ) and said i should not buy it, however i insisted on a full check but did not get one. He took a small BOTTLE jack to use where the car was parked on the back street, no car ramps or trolley jacks horrendous! When going for a test drive he thought that having trade insurance through yourselves meant he did not need trade plates - absolutely barking mad. On checking his report he said that the discs were scored when in fact they are brand new. When he started the engine he went round the back to check emissions and said 'very smokey for a petrol car'. It is a DIESEL!!!! He said it was an easy mistake to make. Unbelievable! I could give many more examples of his incompetency if required.
