Igor called me regularly to keep me updated, as his very knowledgeable colleague was coming to do the work.

Okay, yeah he doesn’t speak very much English, but who cares. I’m not very talkative either, and we’re not there to have a cup of tea and a chat… all I care is can he do the job. He was pleasant, punctual, did the work well, shook my hand and left. No bulls**t.

I know it’s cliche to say for the U.K. motor industry, but this whole experience made a very nice change from the usual cowboys, with their arsecracks showing, as they scratch their faces and say “ooooo I dunno mate, whilst I was doing the job I saw that your double-ended, ribbed pulsator was a bit buggered, you know what I can give you a good price today…. ” etc etc. Pull the other one sunshine.

I was booked in for 4-6pm. Got a call at 2:30pm saying he would be an hour. 4:30 still no sign, anyway he arrived about 5. Unfortunately, the mechanic spoke no English at all and didn’t even know words such as ‘off’ to turn the car off. Furthermore, the mechanic wasn’t able to reset my cars sensor which he needed a computer for. We were trying to sort this out then the mechanic just left without saying anything, I had to follow him for 10 minutes flashing at him to get him to stop. He left without even completing the work! They said they could come back tomorrow but I’m going away tomorrow so after an hour or so of watching tutorials I managed to get it done myself.
