Mechanic arrived at the very tail end of the 2 hour slot. They called me upon arrival, said they would complete their checks and call me back to let me know. I waited 2.5 hours and ended up getting a call from the garage asking what the mechanic had said, i had not yet heard from him. Apparently he was only there for half an hour. I called the mechanic up and he sounded surprised when i asked him how the pre-purchase inspection went. I then asked him to send the results over asap as i was looking to buy the car the same day. I did not receive the write up in my emails until i sent him a text at 8pm that evening even though he had completed the check by 12:30 that afternoon. Can only be honest , paid 200, car failed it’s MOT after service was done, it’s an old car ,he gave me the reasons it failed then offered to buy it for 250, after spending 200 already on a point less service with an engine light already on that’s a fail(as I’ve found out since) I didn’t see the point of letting it go for 50£ since it came back a bigger issue, but chocolate bar on seat been left melting an the door has had a smack which has left it bent and scratched , no mention of it in conversation till I rang mechanic today , who said he told my wife when car was dropped back off ( she said he didn’t) doors a mess but if he would have told me or the wife he’d fix it I could have accepted that but now after a conversation with him he’s offered to do it, can’t really have any faith in his words ,don’t have faith in the service it’s had , don’t want to take it back to have door fixed for above reason s …. Absolutely! My mechanic was incredibly knowledgeable and conducted a thorough assessment of the car. He quickly identified a critical safety issue, which the dealer has now agreed to address for us. I’m extremely satisfied with his work - without his help, this issue might have gone unnoticed. Highly recommend him!
