Apologies for the long review but its a mixed bag of feedback. My Clutch went and i booked a onsite check to see what the fault was. It was confirmed by the mechanic for the next day. I waited during the time window and they did not attend. I managed to get hold of them through the site and they contacted me to inform me it was a mistake that they thought it was the next day. No major issue, so we went with the next day. The attended, took a quick look and confirmed that the clutch would need doing and took the car away to the garage to go get a quote. Chased for a quote the next day and got one and i confirmed i was happy to go ahead. My cars clutch is difficult to get and it was on the run up to christmas so i knew i wouldnt get the car back till the new year. After new year i chased up about hte jeep and got a message to say it was ready to collect and that they just needed to do a test drive in the morning. I attended the next day and picked up the jeep from site and drove it home with no obvious problems, clutch was replaced as planned and the team were very nice. Next morning i started the car and heard a rattling from the front end and a slight clunk when turning the ignition. I messaged the garage who did in fact call me to talk about the issues and said they would come by the next day around 10am to have a listen and look. When i got home that day i opened the boot to find parts from other cars in my boot along with a tool. I messaged the garage to let them know but got no reply. The next day noone came and i messaged the mto find out what is going on bu again got no reply. I decided to then drive to the garage to see what was going on, by this point there was also a slight creaking when reversing and an occasional knocking from the engine bay when driving. I arrived at the garage and was met by one of the mechanics who straight away mentioned that i had items in the boot (he had been made aware, so they had recieved my messages but not responded). I gave the tiems back and then we went about diagnosing the issue. The mechanic was joined by another mechanic and they ascertained that the noise was a bearing issue in the gear box but that it would be fine and not cause an issue when driving but if i wanted the noise gone it would be a full gearbox re build. I thanked them and drove home. During the drive home i noticed the knocking got worse and the squeeking on the reversing was getting louder. I messaged the garage and sent video to them but again got no reponse from them. I then decided to contact my old garage where i used to live who has always worked on my vehicles. I took the car to them to look at all the issues. What they discovered was that 7 bolts that attach the mount and sub frame were loose, these were all bolts that would have had to have been removed to replace the clutch. They tightened all the bolts and all the noises including the gearbox noise has now gone.

I do believe the mechanics tightened the bolts but possibly not tight enough when doing the work so when the test drive and my first drive were being done there were no issues however as they were not done up fully it caused me an issue.

My main concern is lack of communication and actually if this had been checked by the mechanics at the time it would not have taken me two weeks to resolve the issue using another garage.

I think the mechanics did the job as specified and that did everything with the best intentions however it appeared to me that it was just three of them and they are seriously over stretching themselves. Must get better with communications and ensureing the work is 100% completed before jumping onto the next vehicle.
