Emissions: Diesel Particulate (DPF) forced regeneration

If your vehicle has not been able to complete a DPF regeneration cycle it is likely that it is now stuck in limbo as it has been unable to re-start the process. The technician will need to access the DPF system through the diagnostics and attempt to get the car to do a forced regen.

This routine basically puts the vehicle into all the required parameter that it needs in order to perform this routine and burn out the soot deposits held in the DPF canister.
