Transmission: Mercedes A-Class CVT Problems

The most common fault on the W169 Mercedes A Class with the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) stems from the engine speed signal being lost by the gearbox ECU.

This results in two codes, 0722 and 0793 which are RPM Signal Lost errors. The only thing that can be done in this instance is for the ECU to be removed and sent for test and repair. We do not carry out the repaur itself, however we can remove the ECU and refit it upon its return.

As we cannot engage a 3rd party on behalf of yourself, we would literally have to hand the component to you so you can send it off, although we can of course give you advice on who to send it to. However you will be without the vehicle during the repair to the unit, which can take 5-10 days.
