My vehicle is not taxed, can it be driven to an MOT appointment?

The short answer to this is essentially, yes it can.

Provided the vehicle is driven directly to a local MOT testing station for a pre-arranged appointment, then having no vehicle tax (VED) is permitted.

Whilst you can get an MOT without VED, you cannot obtain VED without a valid MOT.
