Renault Trafic Car Won't Start Inspection

Turned up at 12:50 appointment between 11and 1 which was fine as within the time allocated , but with no tools and in a car so was unable to really do anything and asked if I had a screw driver was there for 10mins , then said would be back the next day with tools around 10ish , 11:45 and still had not turned up , so I contacted Sandeep and said was on his way , arrived 12:02 again in a car with a bag of tools and said it could be a number of faults he could not diagnose the fault for sure , so I am still no better of and got to take it to a garage for them to tell me the fault , so to me was a waste of £97 I was charged , I think it disgraceful that I’ve even been charged and I will never use or recommend this service again ,.

Hi I'm sorry you feel this way however I turned up with the relevant tools on both occasions, even if I came in my van instead of my cars it would not have changed the outcome.
The car was booked in for a car won't start inspection, on the 1st trip I checked all the fault codes, the battery and stated that I would need to check the electrical circuit for the starting system. For this to be done thoroughly I needed different tools.
On the 2nd trip I checked the power to the ignition switch and checked the switch was working, the operation of the starter relay all of this was ok, this led me to believe it was a faulty starter motor which I would have checked but the van was on the side of the road and it would have been unsafe to do it there.
Also you had this replaced 6 months ago at another garage so it was still under warranty hence why I stopped after spending a total of 3 hours driving to you and checking everything in the system except the 1 component that was not safe to do on the side of the road where the van was parked.
The only reason I can not 100% say it was the starter motor is because I did not physically check it however its the only part in the system that's not been physically checked.
Had the 16 year old 250,000 mile van been on a solid driveway I would have jacked it up, removed the cover and checked this to give you a 100% answer and I would have spent another hour checking it and the wiring to it.

Not happy. Mechanic came, spent about 1 min. Didn’t fix as it was a different problem. Said they’d get price and call us back which didn’t. Didn’t reply to message about call out fee but just took over £72.00 for 1 min lo at car.
Will never use again and won’t recommend this service. I feel over £72 for 1 min, even as call out is too much.
