The mechanic was friendly and reassuring about the vehicle. Explained the minor issues he found and reassured me about my purchase. However, he failed to pick up on the fact that 2 tyres were not road legal, marking tyres and wheels in good condition (not even fair) in the report (these were subsequently picked up during the MOT the following day and MOT failure - one a ‘dangerous’ defect and one a ‘major defect’). I really do hope this was all that was overlooked, but it has left me slightly concerned now about the quality and reliability of the rest of the inspection. I paid for a premium inspection (site says 2-3 hours work) and the seller advised me the mechanic had the vehicle for less than a hour - which is fine if they get the work done in super quick time and still do a thorough job - but tyres are basic. If corners were cut here I’m guessing they possibly have been elsewhere. Time will tell I guess, but I am somewhat nervous now, and the whole point of a pre inspection was to feel confident and secure with the purchase. Read more

He arrived early which is always good, Was polite, honest and professional which is all you could ask for from a mechanic.
Made him a coffee and he cracked in straight away wasting no time and even did all the checks afterward.
A pleasure to deal with.

We used ClickMechanic for the top level pre-purchase vehicle inspection.
I cannot fault any part of the whole process, from first contact to post inspection report.
We were buying a car 150 miles away and this extremely thorough check gave us complete peace of mind and confidence that the car was all good.
The communication from ClickMechanic has been quick and helpful throughout and the actual inspection report was very detailed, including 27 photographs. The mechanic, Mark, arrived at the dealer we were buying from on time and sent us the report immediately after he had finished, only then, were we charged for the service. Virtually every part of the thorough check came back as excellent or good but one or two points needed attention, which the garage saw to immediately.
