This is the second time I have used Click Mechanic and the first time was excellent. The second time was not a great experience. The mechanic identified an issue with the gear box and recommended the removal of the gearbox and taken to a bloke he knows to refurbish for cash.
The costs soon escalated and resulted in me asking the mechanic to reinstall the gear box as it was but still at a cost of almost £500, £400 to click mechanic and £100 cash to some bloke I’d never met.
I’ve spent £500 just for click mechanic to take the car apart and put back together.
Personally I don’t think there was enough transparency from the outset.
The issue I was experiencing and reason for calling a mechanic was actually due to a wheel bearing and nothing to do with a gear box but this not identified until the gearbox was being reinstalled.
I raised a complaint with Click Mechanic who take very little responsibility for its staff, and instead directed me to a personal resolution service which involves messaging the mechanic to try and resolve the issue.
Obviously the mechanic was unwilling to accept the failings, so I’m now £500 out of pocket and a car that still does not work.
For anyone tempted to use Click Mechanic, do so cautiously as you are essentially dealing with an independent mechanic who is purely instructed by Click Mechanic. Should anything go wrong you have little or no come back. Read more

Charlie is truly exceptional. I needed a clutch fitted on my horse box urgently. 17 garages had waiting lists of two weeks on average, I had a major competition to attend and thought I was doomed until I found Charlie on Click Mechanic. He not only turned up on time, he worked so hard and found two other critical issues. He was open, honest and a subject matter expert. Charlie was polite and very easy to deal with . I am someone who has always done my own work on all my cars but this time didn’t fancy rolling around changing a clutch on my wife’s car . So to have some who clearly knew what they were doing , turn up , get on with the job and complete it and overcome the problems that arose was a delight . I would highly recommend him and use him again .
