Excellent service from Alastair (SVG Automotive). Work quoted was completed, Alastair called informing me of a couple of additional issues (such as clutch cable fitted 'upside-down'). Discussed in simple terms / language (I am not a mechanic!) and also uploaded photos to the dashboard clearly showing me the issue. Also went above and beyond (such as fixing the bonnet release cable - no charge). Comms were excellent (unlike many garages I didn't have to call for updates). Much appreciated and highly recommended!

No work carried out because they told me the timing chain had snapped and slashed through metal and damaged my engine so needed a new engine, timing chain and other stuff. Would cost me around £7000 . Reconditioned engine alone cost £4000 plus 15 hours labour then the chain and additional parts and the labour costs.
So said I was scrapping it then they wanted to buy my Land Rover discovery off of me.
Said was selling as non runner. He said name your price. Think on it. I told him next day my friends having it.
Finally got my car back last night after keep phoning as the said returning it and no show .
Today had 2 mechanics out that are known and trusted spent time going over my car and no new engine needed at all. Just saved myself £5000 + or worse still I could have scrapped my 6 year old car that I have only had 6 months!
Won’t be using click mechanic again !

Good afternoon ,
I’m sorry u feel this way regarding your experience with our garage , I would like to point out that if you check the photo evidence we have attached to your booking u can clearly see there is no timing chain attached to your engine as it has indeed snapped and the chain has been rubbing on the inner case for some time (please check the inner case of your mechanic has stripped it ).
As explained to you with our phone calls so I would recommend your trusted mechanics to strip your vehicle engine apart and check as they will see this is the case and it will indeed require major repairs.
Regarding offering to purchase your vehicle , this was offered to you as you said u would be looking to scrap your vehicle due to the cost of repairing with a replacement engine so we offered to take care of the scrapping side of things for you to help.
Regarding our reputation please feel free to check our profile you will see nothing but good reviews left by over 200 customers , our reputation is a good one , we always look to save the customer as much money as possible were we can and always go the extra mile to keep our customers happy , so I believe u may have been feed false information.
We have a very reputable business with multiple returning customers.
Again we are sorry you feel u have had a bad experience but feel when you have your mechanic strip your vehicle you will see exactly what we have stated is correct .

I booked a real project car for Alastair to do so I already knew it was not going to be easy and might take longer than expected. He had to spend extra time on it and kept me in the loop about the extra costs and did his best to keep them down for me. Really knowledgeable, friendly, and most importantly honest about the situation I’ve given him. The lads picking up the car were also nice and careful with it. Definitely recommend, will be using again

They called before arriving to check if they needed the recovery vehicle and arrived within the specified wtime frame. They called later in the day to keep us informed and discuss emergent work, and then delivered the car back the following day once the work was completed. Everyone we spoke to was friendly and helpful. We are very happy with the service.
