Hometune was originally established in 1968 as the first mobile car engine tuning company in the UK. Originally a franchise with over 150 vans nationwide, we have been owned and run by such companies as Mazda UK and Kwik-Fit.

The franchise was ceased in 2003 and since then many technicians have continued independently, such as myself, who has owned and run this business since 1991. In that time I have completed in excess of 10000 jobs on virtually every make and model of car and light van. In 2010 I worked with the AA for a year whilst also doing my own repairs with Hometune on the side in my spare time and kept the business going so it never ceased.
In 2011 I came back to Hometune full-time and accelerated the business. I work on all makes/models of cars & will tackle most repairs, so whatever the issue I can get you back on the road. Read more

John picked up the job over a Bank Holiday and it was one of those awkward jobs if you had to get it to a garage. The part (alternator belt) replaced and all done and dusted as quick as. No messing about getting it up to a service centre and back again .

Did the job for me as required. Great feedback on the phone. Very helpful. Despite a 'difficult' dealership owner where the motorhome was inspected, he delivered on time and reported back immediately. If I have one criticism it's that when the dealership owner asked John what issues he had found with the vehicle John told what the main issues were. The result was that I got a pretty bizarre and upsetting phone call from the dealer owner just after I'd read John' email report. He went on a rant to me about the problems John had told him about, saying none of the faults were of any significance and his vehicle was in good shape etc etc. I know it must have been awkward for John being on someone else property with an difficult dealer hovering around but I might have been spared the telephone 'rant' call from the dealer if he'd not been forewarned of some of the findings before I was.
