Mechanic rang me on his way and asked me if my car was fitted with a cover under my engine I replied yes he replied ooh great just what I need OK I'll be there in 5 min. When he arrived he's told me that a service should not be done on the drive and should have taken it to Halford. He said he was changing the oil oil filter air filter and that was it. I said I was expecting a 43 point vehicle check he said he cannot do that on my drive???. He changed the oil filter oil and airfilter told me my battery was in need of replacing my front and back brake pads were about 25% and 50% that was it and he couldn't reset my service light so another mechanic had to come back on Saturday between 10am and 2pm so had to wait another day.

The second mechanic arrived the next day to reset my service light very talkative guy and said he was here to reset my service light when he looked at my car he said the first problem was its a German car and that I shouldn't by German after he reset my service light he advised me to keep an eye on it because it will probably come back on again after a few miles as he has nothing but trouble reseting German service lights. I will not be using this company again if the service light does come back on.

Brilliant. I had booked for an alternator replacement, due to googling the issues and self diagnosing it. Westbourne Motors came out and within minutes had identified that the issue was wiring and not the alternator itself. They extended the wire and replaced the connection. It only took them a few minutes to do so. They checked that had resolved the issue and that the alternator was now charging the battery and that was that.
If it had gone off to a garage then they might have ended up replacing the alternator and charging for the time.
Instead it was a call out charge and a connector and came in at over £200 less than replacing the alternator would have been.

Haven't yet driven the car after getting it back - however very friendly organisation and very punctual. Pickup and drop off service faultless. And they kept in contact when picking the car up, for any work that needs doing and when dropping the car back off.
