Lexus GS 300h Car Won't Start Inspection

Friendly enough but not knowledgable about my Lexus hybrid. I got the impression he knew little or nothing about Lexus cars. He made critical comments about hybrids that showed he had little or no experience of this type of car. All the chap did was plug in the odb2 code reader and quickly diagnose I have a faulty PCM. He sent me a quote today for £660 for further work on the PCM - which is a ridiculous price. The odb2 code: B2788 says there is a low sensor voltage at the PCM. Yes, it could be a PCM but much more likely a defective brake booster sensor, or even more likely a failing brake booster sensor relay. The mechanic did nothing to see if this might be the cause. He just sent me a huge quotation for more work on the PCM. I got very poor value for the £60 the mechanic took off me. I now need to find someone who can faultfind the true problem and charge me accordingly. Read more

thank you for your review we want to point out the code that was shown was B2788 the sensors receive a 5 volt reference from the e c u reference signal the computer reads this and if the voltage is not present it then thinks there is a fault so the car want start this could me a number different things 1 the main fuse is blown 2 there is a wiring fault or 3 the E C U is faulty when we were having a chat you did say if you try then leave it for a long time about half an hour the can start this means the fuse and wiring may be ok this is why we are assuming it may be the e c u we gave you a price thinking it may be the E C U but this does not mean this is the issue we suggest that the car go into a work shop for moor test to determine the fault thank you and regards .

unfortunately I missed there initial phone call and didn't get a message apart from noise, I called them to see when they were turning up and they apologised and informed me theyd would have it picked up within 45 mins, they did.
unfortunately the parts supplied by Click Mechanic were not for my model car, Queensway motors were good enough to find me a replacement part for the next day, then also manage to get the part on the same day and get my car back to me! very happy will def use again.

I would not use ClickMechanic again or recommend them as I had a terrible experience and lost money without even getting my car fixed. My car was taken away to a garage which was unknown to me and far away, as they said they could not repair it outside my home. After taking the car, the garage was asking me to pay much more money than I had been quoted when booking the work, even though I phoned ClickMechanic before booking to confirm the price. I refused to have the work carried out at a much higher cost and asked to have my vehicle returned. I then had to pay £80 to have the car returned by
a recovery vehicle.

Hi and thank you for your review. The reason the price was increased was due to the repair Only a catalyst was asked to be fitted and the ClickMechanic teem did give you an accurate price. Unfortunately when the vehicle was inspected both the 02 sensors and the centre exhorts box was needed as it was stolen along side the cat
